Large Bowl with Carved Pattern

This is the largest of the five large bowls I made this semester. It's made from a whopping 20 pounds of terra cotta and is 9 inches tall and 15 inches across to top.

There's a carved pattern of vertical and intersecting lines around the outside and the inside has four carved areas with a similar pattern. It's finished with a simple black underglaze wash and clear gloss.

This bowl was quite the challenge to throw, but also to wrangle once it was thrown. And really, I don't know what to do with a bowl this big. I'm thinking of making it into a fountain.
